<   The Facts    >

Measure Q would provide $66.3 million in general obligation school bonds to renovate and modernize educational facilities for El Dorado Union High School District children, while also eligible for millions in state matching funds.

All Measure Q  funds will be spent exclusively on school improvements -- not on administrator and teacher salaries.  A citizens' oversight committee will guarantee it.
Measure Q will help ensure that students at all 6 high schools continue to receive the high-quality education they deserve -- while costing the average homeowner less than $4 per month.
Measure Q funds will be used to:
  • Upgrade school facilities to meet fire and safety codes

  • Repair and replace aging roofs, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and portable classrooms

  • Expand and modernize classroom facilities and technology (computer and science labs, libraries, performing arts, health and fitness facilities)

  • Provide improved access for people with disabilities; improve parking and traffic flow

  • Construct, expand, and upgrade job training equipment and facilities

For the District to receive $66.3 million to renovate and modernize educational facilities, Measure Q will cost property owners $16 per $100,000 of assessed valuation.

The median assessed value of a home in the El Dorado Union High School District is $270,000.  This amounts to a median tax of $43.20 per year.  Bonds would be paid over a 25-year period.
