GRAPHIC ARTS/PRINTING (S) (Y) #0937
This program is structured to simulate a full-service graphic arts studio/print shop. While receiving instruction in many of the areas of the graphics trade listed below, students will have hands-on experience producing goods and services from design through printing. Instruction will be enhanced by field trips to studios and shops in the community, guest speakers in the trade, and career/college guidance and preparation. Students will be prepared for entry-level positions in the field of graphic arts/printing. Major instructional units are introduction to graphic design, pasteup/production, design, illustration, typesetting, computer graphics, camera/darkroom techniques, printing, and bindery operation. This is an 8-week course in a beginning web page design course using Dream Weaver software. Students learn to create a multipage website and are required to upload that site. ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR #0937L2

This is a 4-week desktop publishing course. Students will learn layout using an industry standard assembly program. COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY (Y) #0959
This is a 9-month-long course in which students develop the skills to enter the job market as an entry-level photographic assistant or continue their education at a trade school or community or state college. This class will familiarize students with camera operation, composition, developing/ printing; also posing and lighting of people and products. Class will be enhanced with outings and field trips to observe and record light, people, and objects. A portfolio will be the ultimate project for class. The class is open to adults as well as high school students. Taught by a working professional, this course is designed to give students a practical knowledge of the photographic industry. Students enrolled in this course will learn media, basic computer skills, scanning, printing, and use of a variety of media. An overview of Photoshop and other software will be provided. PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY #0959L4
This course will introduce students to portraiture, posing, lighting, and advanced techniques using both digital and traditional processes. WEDDINGS #0959L5
This course will introduce students to traditions, cultural, lighting, posing digital vs. traditional, and packaging and marketing.
DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION LEVEL I (Y) #0962L1
This 360-hour communications media production course is designed to provide entry-level job training. Graduates of this program will have the skills necessary to enter the labor market media production or transfer to a university and enter a communication media major. This training provides 17 community college units in addition to the normal high school units. It includes, but is not limited to, how to set up and operate media production equipment and to design individually or with a team a corporate video project. The course work is designed so students are able to work individually and meet the course requirements according to their own time line. DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION LEVEL II (Y) #0962L2
This course provides students an opportunity to complete their certification or upgrade their skills using some of the most current digital editing software available. DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION LEVEL III (Y) #0962L3
This course affords the student an opportunity to participate in an extensive field experience. The student will work with an industry mentor at a production company, television station, or related enterprise.
