Work Permits
(All Schools)

Work permits will be issued by the Counseling Office at each school site.  When the Counseling Office is closed during summer, a work permit can be obtained at the El Dorado Union High School District Office, Student Services Department, at the address above.  Please note that Student Services will be closed for summer break from July 5  through July 25.

The recent passage of a new law (AB 354) requires that all students in grades 7-12 will need proof of a Tdap booster shot beginning with the 2011-12 school year.  If you have any questions regarding this new law, please contact your doctor's office or the El Dorado County Public Health Department at (530) 621-6100.

Closed for summer break from June 20 through July 8.
Reopens July 11 from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (closed during lunch from 12 to 1).

New Students

To make an appointment with the Registrar, contact the Counseling Office at ext. 1029 or 1028, or email Registrar Carol Pesce.  Walk-in registration will not be accepted.

Appointments without a counselor are available from July 19  through July 26.  Registration forms are
available on-line at cougar.eduhsd.net, in the Counseling Office, or can be mailed upon request.

Appointments with a counselor are available from July 27 through August 5.  Call ahead for an appointment time, ext. 1028 or 1029.

Class Schedules

New students may pick up their schedule at Orientation on August 4. 

Returning students may pick up their schedule on Monday, August 1, between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm, in front of the school's main office in exchange for a completed Emergency Card and proof of Tdap immunization.

Students who do not pick up their schedule on August 1 can turn in their completed Emergency Card and pick up their schedule on the first day of school (August 8), between 7:30 and 8:25 am in front of the large gym.

Schedule changes will not be made unless the change involves a course required for graduation.  Requests for elective changes will not be accepted.  All students must follow the class schedule they receive on the first day of school.

New Students

UMHS parents/guardians should call registrar Sam Felcher in the Counseling Office
at (530) 621-4003, ext. 4216,  after July 13.

MVHS parents/guardians need to make an appointment or call Kim Secor.

Freshman and new student/parent orientation is Thursday, August 4, from 5 to 7 p.m.  This is for parents and students.  Parents will meet with administration from 5 to 6 pm in the theater and then go to the market place from 6 to 7 pm for student IDs, school clothing, PE clothing, bus info, SCRIP info, etc.

Freshman and new students will go with our ASB director, Mrs. Slinger, from 5 to 6 pm for a school tour and meet and greet.  Students need to report to the East Gym at 5 pm.

On Friday, August 5, freshmen and new students will have a pool party (students only) from 2 to 4 pm.  Refreshments and popsicles will be provided.

Changes

 

No schedule changes will be made during the first week of school,  with the exception of computer error for reasons such as incorrect academic class, too many academics in same term, or incorrect CSF balancing.  (Note:  A parent's e-mail address will suffice for the required parent signature for all course changes submitted by e-mail.  Otherwise, a parent signature is required for course changes.)

Written course change requests must be submitted to the Counseling Office before August 1, or
by e-mail to Mrs. DeRosa.  This request must include the course to be dropped, the course to be added, the reason for the change request.
 

Comments

All grades (9-12) will report to the Gym at 7:50 a.m. on the first day of school and sit with their grade level class.

Students wishing to enroll at the Independent Learning Center will need to contact a counselor at their home school.   For example:  If you live within the attendance boundaries of Ponderosa High School, you must contact Ponderosa High Counseling Department.  If you need further assistance you may also call  ILC Registrar Cindy Burkhardt after August 2, at (530) 622-7090 ext. 7134.
