Work Permits will be issued by the Counseling Office at your respective school site.  When these offices are closed during summer, work permits can be obtained from the Summer School Office between 7:30 am and 12:30 pm at Union Mine High School during first semester (June 8 - 26) and Ponderosa High School during second semester (July 6 - 24).

Independence High School has received a 3-year distinction from the California Department of Education as a Model Continuation High School.
 
Shenandoah High School has achieved the California Charter Schools Association Certified Charter School recognition.
 
All four comprehensive high schools -- El Dorado, Oak Ridge, Ponderosa, and Union Mine --  each achieved recognition as a California Distinguished School.
 
Oak Ridge and Ponderosa High Schools have been recognized by the California Business for Education Excellence Foundation for their outstanding success in raising student academic achievement.

Oak Ridge has also been named a 2008-09 national Blue Ribbon School.
